Turns out you can coat anything in sparkles.

This is the time of year when everything around you takes on the glittering sparkle of Christmas. There are some people who don’t wait for the holidays to bedazzle everything in their orbit. The following are some of the strangest things people have managed to encrust in jewels and crystals. They beg the question…just because you can bedazzle something does that mean you should?

First up on our wacky little list are the skeletons. Within the Roman catacombs historians uncovered long forgotten skeletons that had been covered in precious gems and metals.

The bones are several centuries old and are believed to have belonged to Catholic martyrs. It seems the sparkly skeletons were intended to become relics in churches, but never quite made it there.

Historians think nuns spent about five years of work to bedazzle each of these holy skeletons. I don’t exactly want to die for my religion, but I wouldn’t mind being covered in jewels. I suppose there are worse ways for your remains to be treated.

In 2022, at the Billboard Music Awards Machine Gun Kelly wore $30,000 worth of diamonds on his fingernails. The mixture of white and black diamonds were glued to faux nails that were then glued to MGK to make for one glitzy manicure.
